Go-Ahead successfully continues its initial and continuing training initiative

– 27.03.17 – In cooperation with the Heilbronn Employment Agency, the Go-Ahead Verkehrsgesellschaft Deutschland GmbH is participating in the Heilbronn Jobs Fair on 12 April. This is the third participation at a jobs fair in cooperation with local agencies of the Baden-Württemberg Regional Office of the Federal Employment Agency. Participation at such events is a key component of the Go-Ahead training initiative. The company uses this format as a way of identifying suitable applicants for the train driver training. Further steps include the organisation of applicant days and participation at the Jobs Fair in Stuttgart on 1 and 2 July 2017.

Go-Ahead also invites interested parties to its monthly round-table events, where they can ask questions about the company and its planned launch in June 2019. This invitation is also aimed at colleagues of the DB Regio who would like to change to Go-Ahead from 2019 onwards. Within the framework of train driver and train attendant recruitment, Go-Ahead is in close contact with DB Regio.

On the basis of successful applicant days and participation at regional jobs fairs, Go-Ahead is already running two training courses for the qualification as train driver. The training is certified by AZAV (the German Accreditation and Authorization Ordinance for Employment Promotion) and can be sponsored by employment agencies or job centres.

The total training is split into two phases and consists of a theoretical and a practical part. It lasts approximately ten months and is carried out by the training provider MEV Eisenbahn-Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH. After passing the exam, participants are employed as train drivers by Go-Ahead and, in the second phase up to the start of operations, are trained in cooperation with our partners and prepared for the job as train driver in the Stuttgart rail network. An additional training course will start in Heilbronn on 2 May.
