Go-Ahead successfully continues its initial and continuing training offensive

Berlin, 27.11.2017 – Go-Ahead Verkehrsgesellschaft Deutschland GmbH will be taking over operations on the Franken-Enz and Rems-Fils lines, as well on the “Murrbahn” network, in the Stuttgart rail network as of 2019. This is why today in Karlsruhe the company is already starting its sixth training course for the train driver traineeship.

The training is certified by AZAV (the German Accreditation and Authorization Ordinance for Employment Promotion) and can be sponsored by employment agencies or the job centre. Up to 15 prospective train drivers can take part in each course.

The entire training is divided into two stages and comprises a theoretical and practical part. It lasts for around ten months and is run by the training provider MEV Eisenbahn-Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH. After passing the exam, the participants are employed by Go-Ahead as train drivers. In the second stage and continuing up to the start of operations, they are trained in cooperation with partners and prepared for their employment as train drivers in the Baden-Württemberg rail networks.

The seventh scheduled course will begin on 5 February 2018 in Geislingen.

Go-Ahead is in close contact with DB Regio as regards the recruitment of train drivers and attendants. Late October 2017 saw the commencement of the personnel transfer process in the Stuttgart Network 1 (Lots 2 and 3)

“We would very much like to enable you, train drivers and attendants, to continue working in the networks that are familiar to you and so be able to remain in your working and living environments. “We want to win people over with quality, and achieving this also requires quality in the workplace,” says Stefan Krispin, Managing director of Go-Ahead.
