Find clarity: Go-Ahead in Bavaria – your information day

Joint informational events by Go-Ahead Bavaria and the GDL in Bavaria on 08/05/2019

Augsburg/Berlin, 17 April 2019 – Go-Ahead Bavaria invites all DB Regio Bavaria employees as well as all other interested parties to attend “Go-Ahead in Bavaria – your information day”.

After taking part in two tender processes in Bavaria, Go-Ahead won the operation of the Allgäu Electric Network and of line 1 of the Augsburg rail network. This means that, beginning in late 2021, Go-Ahead will be in charge of railway operations in Bavaria for the Allgäu Electric Network route; starting in late 2022, Go-Ahead will also manage regional railway operations on line 1 of the Augsburg rail network. Go-Ahead Bavaria will thus operate a total of around ten million train kilometres for their passengers per year between Munich, Memmingen, and Lindau as well as between Munich, Augsburg, Ulm, Nördlingen, Treuchtllingen, Donauwörth, and Würzburg.

These are important transport routes along which the employees of the DB-Regio are doing excellent work for the people of Bavaria. Go-Ahead wants to continue this work.

The events will take place on Wednesday 8 May 2019 from 11:00 to 13:30 as well as from 13:30 to 16:00 in the Brauhaus 1516 in the Augsburg Hauptbahnhof.

Go-Ahead Bavaria will take this opportunity to introduce themselves in general and in terms of the planned operations in Bavaria. Furthermore, Go-Ahead will demonstrate the competitiveness of their salaries as they refer to the monthly wage table for 2019 in accordance with the collective labour agreement between the company and the GDL. Insight will also be provided into the features, technology, and the vehicles which will be operating in the two Bavarian networks in the future.

Of course, Go-Ahead and the GDL will be answering questions regarding the personnel changes in the two networks.

Go-Ahead would very much like to enable employees to continue working in the networks that are familiar to them and thus be able to remain in their working and living environments.

Go-Ahead in Bavaria
The Go-Ahead Bayern GmbH was founded in 2019 as a Bavarian subsidiary of the Go-Ahead Verkehrsgesellschaft Deutschland GmbH and is based in Augsburg. Go-Ahead Bavaria provides national transportation to people in Bavaria and neighbouring federal states via bus and rail service.

The Go-Ahead Verkehrsgesellschaft Deutschland GmbH is a subsidiary of the British company Go-Ahead, which is itself one of the leading providers of local public transport by bus and train. In Great Britain, Go-Ahead provides transportation for around 30 per cent of all train passengers. Its various regional bus services transport over two million passengers each day. Sustainability and safety are the company’s central values and are integrated into everyday work. This was awarded with the Carbon Trust Triple Standard for energy, water, and waste.
