Go-Ahead begins training programme

12.12.16 – In 2019, the Go-Ahead Verkehrsgesellschaft Deutschland GmbH will be taking over operations on the Franken-Enz and Rems-Fils lines in the Stuttgart rail network. Therefore, as of today, Go-Ahead is starting the first training course for the train driver qualification. The training is certified by AZAV (the German Accreditation and Authorization Ordinance for Employment Promotion) and can be sponsored by employment agencies or the job centre.

The whole training is divided into two parts, comprising one theoretical part and one practical. It lasts around ten months and will be carried out by the MEV Eisenbahn-Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH as educational provider. After the examination has been successfully passed, the participants will be employed as train drivers at Go-Ahead and, in collaboration with cooperation partners, trained in the second phase until the start of operations and prepared for the role of train driver in the Stuttgart rail network.

“The cooperation agreement with the Baden-Württemberg regional office of the Federal Employment Agency and the first applicant day with the Stuttgart employment agency offer an excellent foundation for the search for qualified applicants, and we are very satisfied with the results so far,” says Stefan Krispin, Managing Director of Go-Ahead Verkehrsgesellschaft Deutschland GmbH.

After the successful applicant day and the presence at the job fair in Stuttgart, more applicant days will follow, at which those interested can find out more about the company, training and the profession. If all health requirements are met and the application for the train driver license has been successful, Go-Ahead can guarantee a permanent position with an unlimited contract, and a market-conform salary.
