Berlin, 29.04.2016 – The Higher Regional Court in Karlsruhe ruled in last resort that Baden-Wurttemberg was right to assign lot 2 and 3 belonging to network 1 to Go-Ahead Verkehrsgesellschaft Deutschland GmbH. This decision finally ends the bid process which started in 2015, because the decision cannot be appealed. Both lines with 3.7 train million kilometres (lot 2) and 4.4 million train kilometres (lot 3) will be entrusted to Go-Ahead from June 2019 onwards.
„We are very happy with the decision of the Higher Regional Court in Karlsruhe. It is a positive signal for more competition in the rail services sector and for Germany as a business location in general. With this final decision we can start our mobilisation phase. We are really looking forward to working together with all stakeholders in the region,” says Stefan Krispin, managing director Go-Ahead Verkehrsgesellschaft Deutschland GmbH.
Long-term relations in the region
Go-Ahead Verkehrsgesellschaft Deutschland GmbH was founded in 2014 in Berlin. Values such as sustainability and safety are central to its British owning company and its day-to-day operations. These values are also highly important for all of the company’s activities in Germany. “It is one crucial part of our company’s philosophy to build long-term partnerships in the regions we operate in. This is why we are active in Baden-Wurttemberg – for example by building a new workshop,” explains Stefan Krispin.
