Stuttgart, 12 June 2020 – The private rail company Go-Ahead announced a change of management on June 8. Stefan Krispin resigns from all three companies in Germany, Charles Hodgson and Elodie Brian jointly take over the management.
Dr. Uwe Lahl, head of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport, now welcomed the new managing director Charles Hodgson. In a one-hour telephone exchange, he summarized the experience with Go-Ahead: “We hope that the new organizational structure that was installed now has set the right course for the future of Go-Ahead.” Regarding the operational quality of Go-Ahead over the past ten weeks, he said: “We are positive about the development of punctuality and the low number of train cancellations. We agree with Go-Ahead that the passengers are right to return to the regular timetable from 14. Reliability and continuity are expected in June. ”
Charles Hodgson is pleased about the constructive exchange and explains: “It has now been a year of operations in Baden-Württemberg. This start-up phase as a new player in German rail business was very turbulent for everyone. Our strength is our tirelessly highly motivated team for whom we are very grateful for the commitment. We are confident that together we can master the challenges ahead. ”
Charles Hodgson has been responsible for the strategic development of the rail within the international group for eight years and as second managing director for Go-Ahead in Germany. Elodie Brian is Chief Financial Officer of the Go-Ahead Group and a new face in Germany. The operational business of Go-Ahead Baden-Württemberg will continue to be managed by its directors. Since January 1, 2020, the leadership of Go-Ahead Baden-Württemberg has been the responsibility of Max Kaiser, Commercial Director, and Gordon Lemke, Technical Director.
