Stuttgart, 11.03.2019 – On 11 March, Go-Ahead Baden-Württemberg GmbH’s 13th training course for career changers looking to become qualified train drivers is set to begin. Once again, the number of applications exceeded the number of available spots. For those who were not able to get on board, the next qualification opportunity in Stuttgart is already in the works—we welcome applications!
The train driver training is nine to 12 months long and comprises a theoretical and a practical part. The MEV Eisenbahn-Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH is the training provider. The training is certified by the German Accreditation and Authorization Ordinance for Employment Promotion and can be sponsored by employment agencies or the job centre. Following the theoretical part, the second phase of the traineeship focuses on practical work together with the cooperation partners. This allows each trainee to be prepared as best as possible for their work as a train driver in Baden-Württemberg. After the successful completion of the traineeship, Go-Ahead can guarantee a permanent position as a train driver.
From June 2019 Go-Ahead will take over operations in Baden-Württemberg on the Stuttgart railway network and the Murrbahn network as of December 2019. With its latest-generation of barrier-free, accessible trains that run on an appealing and reliable schedule, Go-Ahead is making an important contribution to the modernisation and expansion of local public transport in Baden-Württemberg.
