Proving popular again: 15th train driver qualification course for career changers starting in Stuttgart on 16 September.

Stuttgart, 16.09.2018 – As of today in Stuttgart, Go-Ahead Baden-Württemberg GmbH is launching another new course for career changers who want to qualify as train drivers. Just like for the last courses, there were more applications than training places! Today, 15 of them are starting their train driver training. For those who were not able to get on board this time, the next qualification courses begin on 30.09.2019 in Nuremberg and on 16.12.2019 in Stuttgart.

The train driver training is divided into two parts and comprises a theoretical and practical part. It lasts for approximately 11 months and is run by the training provider DB Training. The company has been one of the leading providers of training and consultation services in the European mobility and logistics market for over 20 years.

In the second stage of the training, the acquired theory is put into practice at Go-Ahead in cooperation with the various partners. In this way every participant is optimally prepared for his or her future role as a train driver in Baden-Württemberg . After passing the exam, the participants are employed by Go-Ahead as train drivers.

On 9 June, Go-Ahead Baden-Württemberg took over operations of the “Residenzbahn” express local transport (IRE 1) and the whole “Remsbahn” Regio transport system (IRE 1, REB 13) in the Stuttgart rail network. Then, as of 15 December 2019, rail services on the “Murrbahn” and operations on the “Frankenbahn” (RE 8) and “Filstalbahn” (RB 16) in the Stuttgart rail network. With its latest-generation, wheelchair-accessible trains that run on an appealing and reliable schedule, Go-Ahead is making an important contribution to the modernisation and expansion of local public transport in Baden-Württemberg.

For the new team in Baden-Württemberg, Go-Ahead is looking for employees who share, implement and fully believe in its service-oriented philosophy. Future staff members in the rail transport company can expect an atmosphere of friendly cooperation and a competitive salary. Furthermore, education and training programmes offer exciting possibilities for personal development.
