31.5.17 – Stadler already received the order for the delivery of 45 FLIRT railcars for the Stuttgart Railway Network in May 2016. The order included11 three-car and 15 five-car FLIRT EMU railcars for line 2, as well as 9 four-car and 10 six-car FLIRT EMU railcars for line 3.
Christoph Hässig of Stadler Pankow and Stefan Krispin of Go-Ahead signed the contract of the maintenance of the railcars today. Go-Ahead decided to commission Stadler in order to ensure a long-term, sustainable maintenance of the vehicles.
“With this order, the partnership between Go-Ahead and Stadler goes well beyond delivering the vehicles. We are looking forward to our long-term cooperation and will do everything to ensure that we support Go-Ahead as a service partner too,” says Christoph Hässig of Stadler.
“We are really pleased to now also be able to work in close cooperation with our partner Stadler for the maintenance of our modern vehicles. Stadler literally know the vehicles in and out. Our contract includes the ECM requirements and, with the close connection of operation and maintenance, reflects efficiency, high quality and economy in equal measures. For us, this is maintenance 4.0.” says Stefan Krispin, Managing Director of Go-Ahead Deutschland.
Thanks to its integrated service concept, the maintenance is easy to plan, and the service team from Stadler ensure a high availability of the vehicle fleet throughout the whole year. All service works will be carried out by Stadler employees who are very familiar with the vehicles and can guarantee a fast and cost-effective operation. The availability of replacement parts will also be guaranteed as part of the service contract. Go-Ahead will ensure the necessary infrastructure. The railway company is building a new depot in Essingen for this reason.
As of June 2019, the FLIRT railcars ordered from Stadler in 2016 will be serviced in Essingen and will operate on the Stuttgart-Aalen-Crailsheim, Stuttgart-Ulm, Stuttgart-Vaihingen (ENZ)-Pforzheim-Karlsruhe lines, as well as the Stuttgart-Mannheim and Stuttgart-Heilbronn-Osterburken-Lauda-Würzburg high-speed lines.
All in all, Stadler services vehicle fleets comprising over 680 vehicles with an annual mileage of over 120 million kilometres in 16 countries.
